Narrative line
We read a brief the way a compositor reads a marked galley: what must hold together across channels, what can breathe, and where the line breaks. You receive a written narrative spine before any channel work begins.
Chase Bed · Smith Street
ClickCraft Nest is a campaign composing studio on the third storey of a shophouse in Chinatown. We work with organisations that need their message composed properly — not amplified blindly — before it reaches any channel.

The shutters came down twenty minutes ago. The brass lamp is still on above the bench, and a marked galley sits weighted at the corner. Someone left a note about a headline that will not sit straight in the chase — not because the words are wrong, but because the line below it carries too much weight. That is the sort of problem we are built for.
Most briefs arrive with the right intention and the wrong composition. Channels multiply before the narrative line is set. Stakeholders approve fragments they have never seen assembled. By the time the run starts, the message has already been crushed — not by malice, but by speed. We slow the first hour so the last week does not unravel.
We are not an agency in the sense of endless decks and rotating account teams. We are a composing studio: a bench, a chase, a lockup habit. Clients come to us when they need the message composed before it is multiplied — when someone must read the brief as a whole and return a spine that channels can trace.
Smith Street keeps us honest. The five-foot way below still carries flyers, menus, and handwritten notices — copy that must compete with heat and conversation, not only with other browser tabs. We test lines against that reality before they run digitally.

A season is not a calendar quarter forced into a template. We map the beats your audience will actually encounter — launch, sustain, quiet — and document the hand-offs between them.

Each channel gets a composed sheet: tone, length, what repeats, what stays singular. Nothing ships without a marked copy that names the source line.

Before external work runs, we prepare an internal read — plain language, no theatre — so approvers know exactly what they are signing.

Every engagement closes with a lockup document: what was decided, what was deferred, what the next read should cover. The lockup is written before the run.

The brief, the marks, the last read-through, and who signs — checked in writing before anything leaves the room. See Make-Ready.

Questions that arrive mid-run get answered in writing and filed beside the chase. See Side Stick for common queries.

A brief brought for an honest read before any production. We return a written assessment of what holds and what must be reworked. Full engagement shapes
A mapped season from first mark to last hand-over, with make-ready checks at each gate and a standing side-stick for mid-run questions.
Monthly composed counsel for organisations that need a bench without a full season. Written notes, clear boundaries, no open-ended language.
If you already know the shape you need, the Chase Door page carries our address, hours, and how a first conversation usually begins. We read every message during studio hours and reply with plain next steps — never a form, never an automated funnel.
Organisations find us when the message is important but the line is not yet set — when channels are ready but the narrative spine is not. We sit between the brief and the run. Our work is composing: setting the line, marking the galleys, locking the chase, then handing over written documents your team can run without us standing over the press.
The studio opened on Smith Street because this neighbourhood still understands material work — paper, ink, weight, silence. Campaign composing is not metaphor for us; it is how we describe a discipline that has lost its name in an age of dashboards. Someone must hold the line. That is the bench we keep.

The line is set before the channels run.
Most enquiries arrive as a single mail with a brief attached and a note about deadline pressure. We do not reply with a deck or a calendar link. Within two working days you receive a plain assessment: whether the bench is the right room, which engagement shape might fit, and what the brief still lacks if anything does.
A first reading can stand alone. If the line holds, we propose a lockup in writing before season work begins — scope, rhythm, signatories, and deliverables named without template language. Clients who need only a launch window receive a run composed under tympan rules; those who need ongoing counsel take an advisory seat. The lockup page describes each shape; the composing page names the disciplines that activate inside it.
We work from Smith Street in Chinatown, Mon–Fri 10:00–18:30 SGT. The chase door page carries directions, phone, and mail. We read [email protected] during studio hours only — not through forms, not through intermediaries.
